The Story Of This Tea: After moving to Santa Ynez Valley California (wine country) James became inspired to hand blend an Earl Grey to match the robust yet charming character of the Valley. This one-of-a-kind blend combines a second flush Darjeeling black tea (orange and citrus notes with a strong muscatel depth) along with a more robust U.S. grown loose leaf black tea. These whole leaves are infused with organic bergamot oil thereby keeping the brew naturally healthy, clear and clean. Finally James added just a tiny hint of fresh dried lavender flowers adding an even more complex fragrance.
Bergamot orange (Citrus bergamia) is a small citrus tree which blossoms during the winter and is organically grown in Calabria, Italy. It's worth noting that it is rare to find an Earl Grey tea that embodies enough complexity and depth of character to hold up to multiple infusions. This Burly Grey does just that!
