The Story Of This Tea:
Golden Turtle is also known as Huang Jin Gui. This batch is an incredible value - it's the highest grade of Huang Jin Gui that is typically available and is offered to you at a very special price.
This lightly oxidized oolong is harvested only on a sunny day for the richest aroma and greatest complexity that Anxi oolong teas are well known for. Bright sunshine is considered ideal harvest conditions for leaves to be made into oolong tea. The warmth of the sun on the leaves excites molecular activity within them. Golden Turtle gives you buttery and fruity-floral aromatics and a yellow-green infusion.
Golden Turtle is a "rolled" oolong with a smooth and sweet aroma reminiscent of famous Taiwan oolong tea's such as Kingfisher Jade or Meishan Jin Xuan. These are great tea's for brewing gong fu style (multiple infusions), cold brew iced tea, as well as for brewing in mugs and teapots. Expect the leaves to open quickly and get huge as they unfold and release their essence into your brew.
Brewing advice -
Water temperature: 195 degrees (just below boiling)
Number of infusions: 3 to 7. Each infusion creates a unique flavor profile.
