Royal Flush black tea (AKA Himalayan Wine) is from one of the highest elevation tea farms in Mirik Valley, Darjeeling, stretching up to 7000'. This small batch is a unique tea made from high quality China bushes planted by British over 130 years ago! These old bushes have strong roots reaching deep into the fertile soil, and always grown without the use of pesticides and herbicides.
Darjeeling Tea is considered "The Champagne of Teas" for its perfectly muscatel character that is nearly impossible to replicate anywhere else in the world. Grown in the dreamy and magical high altitude mountains, these bushes are nurtured by gentle showers of rain, the golden glow of the sun, and the soft and misty dew. The hilly terrain provides natural drainage for the intermittent rainfall that Darjeeling receives.
Royal Flush Black tea derives its uniqueness from its Muscatel flavor. According to tea scientists, geraniol, linalool, terpenoids and some fatty acid degradation lends to the unique characteristic. This batch is well oxidized which brings out a beautiful Autumnal Muscatel character in each sip and every infusion.
The appearance of Darjeeling second (Autumnal) flush dry tea leaves has a dominating chocolate brown color mixed with a purplish bloom. Also noticeable is a considerable amount of silver or golden tips/buds. The cup (tea liquid) is full bodied having an amber color... darker the better. But darker doesn’t mean over steeping it!
